Corazondiablo's Pixies Experience
Any fears I had that night of finding the club were unnecessary... I just needed to look for the building with the line of over-excited, over-charged, and (mostly) over-aged music fans. Yes, I was amongst my own that evening. The hour or so spent on line outside the club was filled with conversations about 20 hour road trips, $500 ebay purchases, and the best way to get to Winnipeg. This was the night I had been waiting for... 12 years of bootlegs and dvd's and cardboard cutouts (no, I'm not THAT bad, geesh) all came to an end that night. I was a pilgrim, indeed.
So after the doors opened and I bought my assorted Pixies loot, I staked out my spot, for I knew that this show was going to be crowded. That was useless, because crowded was an understatement. The place was jam-packed, wall to wall, upstairs and downstairs. If people could hang from the ceiling, I think they would have. Normally, I hate crowds (a bit of a phobia for me, actually) but these people were all so cool, so positive, it wasn't a problem. We all cheered. We all sang. We all knew just how great this was. The vibe was fantastic. 800+ sweaty, elated, cramped, and fanatic people were all united for one thing: to witness the best band in the world together again.
I'm not very mushy, and I'm a pretty tough cookie, but goddamn, this experience made me weep with joy. I saw Pixies live.

Joey Santiago Speaks About Reunion
When Joey Santiago walked into the first practice session for the upcoming Pixies reunion tour, it had been 11 years since the band's four members had all been in the same room together. So his reaction was understandable.
"It was pretty weird," the guitarist told MTV News. "But it was literally only weird for a little while. Once we started playing, that was it ... it was fun. It was on to business."
